BDEAdmin doesn't Start

Hi,

I've developed an application that uses de BDE. In some machines running
Windows 95 not only my application doesn't start (with no message at all),
but the BdeAdmin.exe neither. It puts the cursor to an hourglass and after a
while the cursor returns to the normal arrow and nothing else happens. Does
anybody knows about this strange bug.

  Thanks in advance,

Aldo

Re:BDEAdmin doesn't Start

Usually this has to do with Win98, but check the color depth.  It must be 256
colors or higher or the BDE will hang due to an OS bug in Win98.  That is the
only freeze up issue I can think of.

If there is somebody up there could they throw me down a line.  Just a
little helping hand just a little understanding.  Just some answers to the
questions that surround me now.  If there's somebody up there could
they throw me down a line.               (Fish)

Re:BDEAdmin doesn't Start

Try going to the exe itself in the borland shared directory instead of
trying to start it from the control panels, if in fact that is what you are
doing.  I've noticed that on some machines where the BDE gets installed, it
loses a system file of some kind or another and only starting the actual exe
will fix it.
