SQL performance in queries

Hello everyone!

What is happening when doing a SQL query in a query object, when the
source table is not a table object, but a table defined in the BDE?

For example:

Query.Close
Query.SQL.Clear
Query.SQL.Add('Select * From BDETable')
Query.Open

Is the BDETable opened, queried and close everytime the query is
executed? This could cause a performance hit, especially if it is an
ODBC table that is being opened and closed.
