My OAC electronics project requires that I use a computer (IBM PC or
comp. with parallel and serial ports), and I'm supposed to control
some stepper motors with it.

My question is:  how can I turn the individual bits of a parallel and
serial port on and off.  So.. with a volt meter I am able to detect a
signal on pin 1, pin 2, pin 3 and so on...  This then would be run to
SCRs which would allow the higher current to run the motor.

I would need the routines for all (or most) pins of the Parallel and
Serial ports.
