Vista plays around with registry and disk accesses.
Very true indeed.

If you had installed Turbo Delphi fresh
on Vista, it possibly would have worked.
This is a possiblitity yes.

You may be best to remove it and re-install rather than trying to
re-register as other things might still be broken.
From what i observed in the public beta of Vista is, that if you
upgrade and/or install vista on a PC that already had XP (or any other
Win*OS) on it, that vista will copy some of the filesystem (NTFS)
rights that are on the harddrive.
That is problematic, because the user that had these rights assigned to
the drive won't exist anymore after the upgrade/new installation.
While as administrator you can alter the NTFS rights, it is a large pain
in the backside to do this on all folders manually.
Another issue is that you can't delete the old NTFS users and their
rights. (But that might have changed in the RTM).
My advise is never install vista on a harddrive that was already
formatted and/or used by another OS.
BTW, if you go back to Windows XP when you got tired of Vista, all those
problems disappear again as XP doesn't really care about NTFS rights
that much if you are an admin.

Well the only real problems I have with vista are that:
1) I am having issues with Turbo Delphi and
2) IE7 is unusably slow - I swapped to firefox something I thought I
would never do
back to turbo..
a series of installs and uninstalls leaves me with this strange
problem
turbo delphi launches on vista but it has "no personality" on vista, a
bit like me before my first coffee in the morning
the shortcut is as default "C:\turbo\Bin\bds.exe -pDelphi" but there
is no delphi in bds
I'm installing from the most recent turbodelphi_en.exe
Maybe I will go back to an earlier version I have somewhere
Is this just me, vista, a combination of both or is anyone else
upgrading xp to vista experiencing this?
