Yes, Treehenge's relationship to StoneHenge was intentional, but there
are some additional astronomical niceties at Treehenge.
Didn't know it was called Treehenge.

Hi John,
Please mention to whomever you know and may have influence at Microsoft
that by creating UI's from proprietary non-standard menus and toolbars
using controls and colors that are not available from the core OS or
system palette is bad. Developers tend to want to copy the look of MS
Office applications and unfortunately the look does not come as part of
the core OS nor do the controls provided with the core OS really provide
the necessary hooks to make them look like Office (this is especially true
for menus). I believe MS does this intensionally to make their (oh so
prevalent) applications the envy of all Windows developers which makes
their applications even more desirable. It feeds on itself.
Hi Steve,
I get your point: MS does it and everybody wants to do like MS because
Office looks so cool (according to some anyway). However, if Office were to
use an ugly orange color for menu selection, would you follow them ? Ooops
sorry, they already do that :)
Now when I switch to default theme (no theme) and choose a red selection
color, what can I see: Delphi 7 is still using the blue selection while Word2k3 is
adapting its menus to use some kind of alteration of that red color. Now if
one want to be included in the "cool" gang, one has to do it right all the
way ;)
Anyway, I don't know what's the state of those menus in D2005 but if it's
the same as in D7, you may want to keep in mind that Delphi must be an
example for its developers too and can make a difference: do you want
developers using your tools to do whatever they can to mimic Delphi and
Office or would you rather set an example by following the user preferences
like the ToolBar2k components (www.jrsoftware.org/tb2k.php) do so
well ? IMO a TB2k (with default theme as they can be customised but its not
my point) enabled application looks more impressive than a wanabe office
clone!

This talk about Stonehenge reminds me of of "Built Up Area" - a little known
