Intel JPEG library

Hi,
I downloaded sources from www.g32.org/graphics32/thirdparty.html for
using the Intel JPEG library (using ijl15.dll , version 1.51.12.44) for
reading and writing images.
Does anyone know
- about licence issues concerning the library: It used to be free, but it
isn't any more. The current version is 4.1. So what about older versions?
- being an Intel library, what happens if it is run on an AMD machine?
TIA,
M.

What would you think? The machine explodes of course.
sorry coudn't resist :)
Other than that, I am also curious about the answer to your original
question, whether it is allowed to use the old version free of charge.

I just hate it when that happens...!
Well since all I seem to get from this group is great jokes, I did some
googling and downloaded the latest Intel JPEG library that is now called
performance primitives.
The latest version docs say there are different dlls optimized for different
Intel processors, and optimized C code that is probably used to explode AMD
machines.
I also found the original licence agreement
(mud4u.org/doc/Intel_JPEG_Library/ijllic.htm).
It says:
"Redistributables: include library, and dynamically linkable library files.
You may copy and distribute Redistributables with your product."
but then there is this part:
"LICENSE RESTRICTIONS:
Upon Intel's release of an update, upgrade or new version of the Materials,
you will make reasonable efforts to discontinue distribution of the enclosed
Materials and you will make reasonable efforts to distribute such updates,
upgrades or new versions to your customers who have received the Materials
herein.
..."
So is purchasing the latest version for $199 and translating the headers to
Delphi reasonable effort?
And then there is this:
"TERMINATION OF THIS LICENSE: Intel may terminate this license at any time
if you are in breach of any of its terms and conditions. Upon termination,
you will immediately destroy the Materials or return all copies of the
Materials to Intel along with any copies you have made."
