What type of BSD2006 components to use for this type of app

Hello all,
I'm interested in trying to create a web based application that does some of the same stuff as this one:
adds.aviationweather.noaa.gov/metars/java/
Obviously, this is a java applette.... so what types of components/services could I use with BDS2006.
