Decent Charting in Delphi

We are looking for what provides the best charting in Delphi.
We have looked at Teechart and it is no where near the standard
of the Crystal Reporting Charting.
Is there anyway we can get decent charting without
moving to Delphi2005 and Crystal 10?
Regards,
Robert.

Re:Decent Charting in Delphi

Dear Robert,
what do you mean with "decent charting"?
If you need simple cartesian charts you could try my Rt-Tools2D components

Re:Decent Charting in Delphi

Well,
our main requirement is in quality of screen, quality of print, not how much
but how well.
The printing of the teechart, is substandard, compared to crystal reports,
we know
we have generated the same charts in both and printed them.
There was no comparison, the fine print quality of the crystal report was
way better.
I had a look at the Rt-Tools2D components and they looked ordinary.
I guess we are looking for something at the level of Microsoft Excel or
better.
Regards,
Robert.

What can you do display wise in Crystal Reports or Excel that you can't
do in the free version of TChart ?
If you want a routine that will print a TChart in any size rectangle or
export to BMP/GIF/PNG format files of any size, at the same quality as
the screen display, whilst maintaining all font and pen settings,
e-mail me and I will send you my TChart utilities unit.

I wonder if the difference here is the use of anti-aliasing. I have tried
out the demo version of TeeChart for .NET and there you can set a
property which takes advantage of the anti aliasing capabilities of
GDI+. The same chart looks so much better in TeeChart for .NET compared
to Win32 Teechart.

I don't know which component you are using but I wonder if you have tried with
TeePrintMethod set to qtmMetafile. You could find the equivalent property for
the component you are using. I can also see a PrintResolution property.

Hello Robert,
I believe I may have a solution to your problem.
You mention image quality. that is what Gigasoft stresses the most and you
wont find a charting tool that places more emphasis on image and functional
quality.
More info and a demo can be found at www.gigasoft.com
An online interactive demo can be found at www.gigasoft.com/thedemos.aspx
