It's just what I heard, it might not be true. I got my copy today (SA).

I share your opinion on this :)
It's funny to see VS2005 demonstrations with all this "new" technology that
we had in Delphi for ages. Still it is odd how people did choose VB(Visual Basic) over
Delphi in the earlier years. Just look where they are today, at a dead end.
Their loss. Maybe they did learn something from the experience, or maybe
they just jump right into a new hyped VB.NET Microsoft development
environment.

no we're not ... we're sitting here waiting for our BDS2006 Pro UG to arrive. that is a long shot from a dead end. :)

See - Borland knows so much better how to run a launch - there's plenty
of product available for everyone! Unlike a certain other company that
can't seem to supply enough game consoles... ;-)

When I got my D2005 Pro, I was saved by being able to run it
un-registered. I got the media pack itself, but the keys were held up
for a long while. I remember using the trial until it ran out, then
installed Pro so I could start using the unregistered period and has
only a few days left before receiving my key.
Actually, come to think of it that was Christmas /last/ year. I might
have to have a 1 year of Delphi anniversary party :-)

Re: If you are happy, please share with us.

I'm not sure if there is an order, but I would think people that have had
SA for the last few years deserve their copies a lot earlier than a new
customer trying out Delphi to see what it is like. Especially with the
quality of the previous releases.
Anyway there is a very simple solution for next years release, which
would avoid all this confusion. Let users download their copy as soon
as it is available. I know it would cut down our waiting time by a few
weeks (in Australia), while avoiding the argument about who gets their
copy first.

Could be--preorders represent realizable income, whereas SA orders have
already been charged.

Nevertheless, I would be surprised if there's any kind of absolute order. I'd
expect more of a variable allocation plan with some packages going out to
all streams (preorders, SA, retail outlets, tech partners, etc) from just
about day one.

It's a shame that one wasn't done this time around. I don't expect it
to be included in an update. Maybe Highlander? <g>

Ok, now this one is very lousy of those who adjusted it:
Create and remove of bookmark does not have the right image repaint area.
Create a bookmark with Ctrl+Shift+1, notice the icon, press Ctrl+Shift+1
again, and notice how all but the top pixel line dissappears.... Ofcourse,
not a showstopper or anything, but I find it odd how no tester discovered
this.

Re: If you are happy, please share with us.

Not yet, maybe later this week if I get the time.
If you want, you could QC it. Post it here if you do, so I don't duplicate
it.

I've added many components, and the flip is now slower. About the same as
D2005 with update 3. That would be 2 seconds for a flip from source to
form
(from form to source is fast). Still very stable and no crashed, but some
small annoyances have surfaced:
<<snip>>
Does turning off "Show Palette Wizards" help when switching views?

That's in D2005 as well. Never got round to QCing it though.

Not that you didn't QC, but that we didn't QC it.
I have nearly 400 QC reports, almost all of them more important than
this issue :-)
