If you have not updated to Rave BE 5.0.8, then look at the above link on the latest information we have on where Borland keeps this update.

Sure, go to "Edit ->Preferences" then select the "Defaults" page. There you can set "New Project Values" "Units" to Inch, mm, cm, Point or User. It will only apply to new reports. On that same page, you also will probably want to set the "Draw Grid Every" ?? Lines to something greater that one.
