Converting MKS #s to Real #s

I have a project where I am converting data from a really old Btrieve
database.  In this old database, they stored real numbers in what I have
been told is the "MKS" format (Microsoft ??something?? Single precision).
I need to convert these into regular floating numbers so that I can store
them in a paradox table.

For example, a real number looks like: ^@+U or in Hex: x00 x2B x55 x90

I would appreciate any ideas on how to get these numbers converted to
regular numbers.

Thank you.
