I would prefer that. Especially a Win32 IDE without .Net dependencies.

I think that an installation option would be better:
(1) Win32 + .NET
(2) Win32 Only
(3) .NET Only
Or maybe checkboxes next to each feature:
[x] Win32
[x] .NET
And then the installer could figure out whether .NET is required or not.
Of course, you'd probably have to accept that some features of the IDE
(Together, ECO) wouldn't work then so the list would be:
[x] Win32
[ ] .NET
[/] Together
[/] ECO
(/ = disabled if .NET not selected)
Cheers,
Kevin.

That would be nice. It would be even nicer if minimum and recommended system
requirements (cpu/ram) and hd space needed were listed after each option
too.

I don't think it would be wise idea to build the next IDE solely on a dead
platform. Do you think there will be full Win32 support in next generation
of Windows ?
Instead of it I'd vote for fixing bugs in current IDE version. I don't
see anything wrong on using .NET where it makes sense, even in case the IDE
produces Win32 application.

Re:Separate releases: Delphi 10 Win32 / Delphi 10 .Net

It will be Win32 support on many new version of Windows, because nobody will
buy new version of Windows from Microsoft, if existing and expensive
programs (Photoshop, 3DSMax, Maya, Dreamweaver, Video Games) are not
working. In that case Linux may made great win over Windows with some
perfect Win32 emulator.

You can do it today
Put vote with level 1, it will lover overall value and prevent raising a
flag
Remember about 3.5 rating (or something like this) which is required for QC#
to be considered

indeed and rather obvious.
MS already have some problems pushing consumers to new OS versions.

That would get my vote :-)
I am more than happy with the current bundling of the D2005 SKUs, and
think that, compared to previous Delphi and C#Builder releases, it is
excellent value for money. I think people are under the impression that
having a Win32 only SKU would be 1/3 of the D2005 price, which I doubt
would be the case.

I am not sure. I'd rather say that having a Win32 only SKU would make
Delphi more stable. D2005 is huge and, not surprisingly, is full of bugs,
for it is much more difficult to debug and stuff.
I personally thought I'd enjoy playing with D2005, but at the end of the
day, I still haven't made the move. This is the first time I don't upgrade
my projects to the next Win32 version of Delphi after having purchased it.
For me, it just tells me that there is something really wrong with Borland's
business strategy. I started having that feeling with D8, it then got
confirmed with CBX and now D2005. Not good, not good... :(

Indeed. What I still don't understand is what .Net brings *to the consumer*.
Win16/32 brought GUI and multitasking. Those are visible improvements over
DOS. 2000 and XP brought reliability, although not all consumers cared as
much, so as a result there are still people running 98. What's .Net going to
bring? Slower and more bloated applications? Which consumer in their right
mind would go for that? I know lots of people who bought brand new graphics
cards just to play doom3 or hl2. that is the killer application paradigm. I
cannot, for the life of me, think of one scenario where a desktop
application written on top of .Net does things for the consumer that a
W32/64 application cannot do better.

I don't mind paying the regular price at all *if* my money is spent on
fixing bugs and adding features for the platform that I actually use.
