problem posting a date from Windows NT workstation to SQL server 6.5

There's a simple dbEdit linked to a datetime field on a MS SQL Server 6.5
table.
The same application with the same BDE (4.51) settings works properly on
Windows 95 and 98 but returns a general SQL error (syntax error converting
DATETIME from character string) on any Windows NT workstation PC.
Also the regional settings regarding date and time are the same on all the
PC's.
Did anybody experienced the same problem?
Help needed!
Thank you
Alessandro.
