it's like Delphi or that developers who like Delphi like C#..

Why will you have an easier migration path to Avalon based applications?

What is Avalon?

I have to admit that C# isn't a bad language. My favourite superficial
issues are case sensitivity and squigly brackets.
Yeah, I hate case sensitivity. I think the environment should take care
of that if they can't live without it. Brackets I actually like.

I see.....If Borland will not support 64bit version of Delphi then it is
tough decision to take. My previous company is in the same situation,,,,,

Well, it is better then the old BASIC,
one can argue that C++ is probably a bit too much
and ugly but I can't see in what way OP is any
better then C# (.NET version of OP of course).
If you can not understand the grace of Pascal, I feel for you. But Pascal
have *a lot* of fans and I think that they are right. I would never code in
C-language. They are just plain evil.

Would you like to have that kind of career ? I wouldn't.

This isn't correct -- VCL.NET doesn't use WinForms. It is a parallel
architecture.

Hello

Can anybody give me some good reasons for starting an application
for .NET in Delphi 8 and do not use C#?
Delphi for .NET can expose a .NET assembly as a Win32 DLL, so your
new .NET code can be reused by people or applications that have not
migrated to .NET. Kind of like unmanaged code in reverse.

* Because you may want to port your existing Delphi apps to .NET without
a complete rewrite?
* Because you are convinced that Delphi is a lot more powerful than C#
(it really is)?
* Because you LOVE Delphi?
Those would be my main reasons. <g>

I do. When you use C# for a while, you will find a lot of things that
Delphi has, but are missing in C#.

I bet it isn't and never will be. Tell me one reason why moving from
VCL ->Avalon should be easier?
Because we know Borland, and I am sure that Borland would be able to
redesign the VCL to wrap Avalon. There is enough time to slowly remove
the P/Invoke calls with .NET CLR and Avalon calls.

NO, it isn't. The VCL does not wrap Windows Forms components.

Considering that VCL will live that long.
It managed to survive Win16-Win32, and Win32-.NET, so why not?
