Novel Client 32

I have a user who is having problems with performance under Novel Client32.
I remember something going by a couple of months ago about setting a lock
retry value or a timeout variable in the Novel client 32 setup.

Does anyone have any additional information on this?

Here are the properties recomended by Novel :Cache writes = off
Close Behind Ticks=0 File Caching=0 Lock Delay=1 Lock Retries=1
Read Only Compatibility= on True Commit=On
Opportunistic Locking=off (with the older client)
