Callback messages from MSSQL server 6.5 - Help please

hi
does anyone know how to install callback message routines to a ms sql
server so that an event in a delphi app can be triggered when, for
instance, an insert on a specific table occurs ? or is there any other
method to do something similiar without polling the database continuously.
any help would be appreciated.
