PC Parallel Port Programming

Does anyone know of a book or something on how to get data and save to
disk file, raw data using the serial or parallel port of a PC.
Preferably the parallel port.  I would like to use an old 286 or 386 to
log various instruments.   Temperature, Humidity & etc.  Any help would
be much appreciated.

Thanks

dick

There's an excellent book 'Build Your Own Low-Cost Data Acquisition and
Display Devices' by Jeffrey Hirst Johnson. It's published by Tab Books, ISBN
0-8306-4348-6. All examples are in Turbo Pascal.

Nigel.
