Just guessing, could it be that you should use exec instead of open on the
query in question?

I'm having a bit of a problem.. it seems that StartTransaction doesn't work
properly with MSSQL - its was working ok with Oracle - but seems to hang
with MSSQL.

Does any one have any ideas, or come across this before.

the problem seems to manifest it self when opening a query which returns no
records - it hangs indefinitely
