Converting to Indy

Due to necessity, I am finally going to convert a few applications that use
other internet components over to Indy. I'd like to know if I should go
ahead and go with v10 or stick with v9. Of course I want high reliability
and I really do not do anything too complex. I will be using the components
for SMTP mail, FTP, and HTTP with Cookies.

Re:Converting to Indy

I would recommend Synapse, it has proven to be the most reliable TCP/IP lib
I have ever used.

Are you trying to imply that Indy is not reliable? If so, then I suggest
you avoid doing so. For one thing, Indy is used in a lot of third-party
commercial applications and works fine. Even Indy's own authors and
sponsors use Indy for their own applications. Indy has been around for a
long time and is a tried-and-proven library.

It depends on your time frame. Indy 9 is stable while Indy 10 is still under
some development. We have moved all prodution code to 10 and 10 is on track
for release around September.
Is Indy useful to you? Send a postcard please!

Thanks. I will stick with v9 for now then.
