Why is that?
It looks to me (warning: this is highly speculative -- this is my

conclusion and I don't have supporting documentation) like Microsoft
has concluded that the future of the internet will be in shared
services which are not necessarily browser-based. Like an Avalon
interface to Hotmail, for example.
