Does anyone know if Spybot is still written in Delphi?
The last version available for downloaded (dated May last year) appears
to be written in Delphi.

Fixed. that is what matters most, isn't it?

Depends on how important a fix is to someone. Although, this one sounds
like work-arounds are there. If it was a show stopper, then maybe
there'd be more of a case.
Although, Borland's open communication (or lack thereof) is something
that's seems lacking in this case. Hopefully this will change at DevCo.
Speaking of which, when are we finding out the new name? :)

You can not get much more open than QC, particularly now that we've
turned full synchronization on. The only other "openness" might have
been timing of fixes or future plans. And now we're publishing
roadmaps, too.

I don't expect DevCo to release hotfixes for any product that is four
years old and has had three major releases since the product's
release.
Either do I, I meant only from this point forward, i.e. current and future
releases.

In any event, MS is an exceptional case
This is a good observation. If MS is the only example someone can come

than the rule.

I read that message differently ... I think Wayne was indicating that he
expected that things would be different from here-on-in and future releases
would be supported with hot fixes.
It could be interpreted to mean that four years from now, DevCo will still
be releasing hotfixes for BDS 2006. Wayne's quote:

But now that they've initiated hotfixes, I expect this effort
will also continue in the future.
Sure, I hope (and expect) it to continue. But that still won't help four
years from now when a fix is made in BDS 2010 that was reported for BDS
2006. I do /not/ expect DevCo to release a hotfix for BDS 2006 in that
scenario.

Yes, but I was challenging the nay-sayers to come up with an example where
Microsoft /has/ done this. Because I seriously doubt there is one.
Everyone likes to say "but Microsoft does...". And in this case, I don't
think they can say it.
Even the case that was mentioned failed to meet the criteria that "indy"
is requesting from Borland/DevCo.

I've tried it in BDS 2006 and it indeed seems to work correctly with no
problems.
At the cost of introducing an other (but far more obscure) bug / problem.
The ExplicitTop/Right etc properties that were introduced to solve this
cause problems if you want to change anchors and layout at run-time.
Steps are quite long to describe, but if you have a look at the source
it's obvious change Anchors after controls have been programatically
moved around usin Anchors. The work around is easy too:
SaveTop := Control.Top;
Anchors := NewAchors; // change anchors, this corrupts Top
Control.Top := SaveTop; // force back to changed position
Not much of a problem, but it went unnoticed in the first releases
of ModelMaker Code Explorer for BD2006. As it is something
you dont expect to break in between versions
I think the real problem lies in the bad VCL scaling behaviour which
still is not solved imo.

Yes ... perhaps it could, but IMO, we would really have to stretch the in context meaning of the post to get there.
While we're stretching things ... Any hot-fix support beyond a second subsequent release would be a very unrealistic thing to expect of any company whereas hot-fixes, up to that point [IMHO] should be the norm. :)

No, they don't. Name one hotfix for a Microsoft product that is four
years old and has had three major releases since.
Windows 98... they just stop supporting it July 11, 2006...that seems like
about 8 years or so.
