D7: Is Rave CLX?

If D7.Rave is a CLX set of components, the deployment issues must be
reviewed.

What about a VCL app with Rave? Will I have to send QTINTF.DLL (4046
KB) to my users?

Jim Gunkel of Nevrona posted the following in
borland.public.delphi.reporting-charting:

"Just to clarify: the Rave visual designer is a native Windows
application written in CLX so that it can run on both Windows and Linux
but the source code and components are available in both VCL and CLX
form and are fully compatible with both VCL and CLX applications."

My understanding of this is the following: To distribute a delphi
application containing a Rave 5 report to a windows platform, you do NOT
need to distribute the QT runtime, provided you compile using the VCL
version of Rave.  If you were to distribute the end-user designer (which
does NOT come with the version of Rave 5 included with D7, only with the
upsell available from Nevrona) you would need to distribute the QT runtime.

Just to clarify:  Rave 4 End-User designer was a .dll and source was not
available.  Am I understanding that source for the end-user designer is now
distributed (as an upgrade) for Rave 5?

When purchasing or upgrading to Rave BEX, you receive full source code
for *everything* that is compiled into your application executable (CLX
and VCL applications).  Source code for the Rave visual designer core is
not provided but source for items such as the property editors and
wizards is.  Because of this the end user designer is only available in
DLL form (the same as Rave 4.0).
