Delphi vs. FoxPro

Hello the Allmighty All!

I'd be very grateful to anyone who would send any arguments/considerations
that can be useful to convince people that switching from FoxPro to Delphi
makes sense.

TIA

Gary

Re:Delphi vs. FoxPro

Good afternoon,

I will assume your current application is written in FoxPro.  You may
already know that most programmers are moving towards "relational" databases
(ie Oracle, Sybase, Intebase).  FoxPro applications may continue to loose
support as fewer programmers use the language.

Advantage 1 - You can use Delphi to create a text-based or GUI application
will keeping your FoxPro tables.  This promotes separation of tiers (ie GUI
layer vs data layer).  This may extend the life of the FoxPro database.

Advantage 2 - When to move your FoxPro data to a "relational" database,
Delphi's ADO components will allow you to communicate without the BDE or
ODBC.
