CL - increase length of tStringField

I want to increase the length of a stringfield
in a paradox-table. Is it possible, and how ?

Something like

ALTER TABLE (lengthen Name (+30)) ???

How about:
    ALTER TABLE "Clients.db"
    DROP Name, ADD Name CHAR(40)

Yep, that should do the trick. But do I lose the
data in the column that way ?
