.dat format file ???? Need help

I have old data stored in a .dat file format that I need to get. Someone
knows how to read this format and with what???

Hi. The fact is the .dat extension is the typical extension for the data.
I've seen databases with this extension by BTreeFiler (Turbo Power
Software). In this case there is 3 files with the same name and different
extensions: .dat - data, .ix - indexes, .dia - information about current
session. Is it your case?

Alex, it is my case, except instead of a .dia file, it is a .pds file.
The other two are the same.   How can one convert a .dat file over to
something readable in either ms excel, or msaccess?

PS: These  are data files from an old program created in 1991 called,
InFocus....
