Following this link closed my computer down.
Call me Mr. StateTheObvious, but if your computer can be closed down just
from visiting a website, you have a real problem. :-)

Perhaps you should say what you do want to see?

A complex Real World *working* application, not using third party
components.

Seams great. Are you using some third party components? Are you using
VCL .Net or standard .Net compos?

Ditto, in the topic. Some of us dont have the same *time to experiment*,
so fail.

Best Regards and congratulations.

German.
D8 out of the box, plus "Obout slide menu" and "ChartDirector" controls.

You can get more real world than this.

Typically 30k-40K sessions per day, 1500 to 4000 concurrent users

Over 1 million price updates per day. Utilises multi-threaded real time
dot NET remoting etc etc.

We DESERVE very sympathetic treatment when it comes to D9 as we have
practically written the book on D8.

Both very frustrating and rewarding at the same time.

Considering that Delphi 8 is a pretty new (less than 12 months) I dont
think
you are going to find any huge apps.
Well, I tried your site again and this time I got there :-)
I must say I love the Win9x login screen, just hit Cancel to enter the site
:-))
But seriously, if this is all done in D8, then I am impressed, especially as
I didn't understand too much of the content :-)

Why does use of third-party components make an application not a real
world application?
I have spent my working life creating 'complex real world' applications
in a number of different languages for a number of platforms, and all
of them use third-party components. If I did not use them, I would
still be be halfway through re-inventing the wheel to create my first
application.

Yes, except D4 and D8.

Have you never bought or tried thirdparty components?
Yeap. As it is the point?

Have you ever tried HTML?
Yeap. again, as it is the point?

Best Regards.

German.
We use a small java applet that polls our .NET cache and parses the
resulting return to modify the price and news fields using DHTML/Javascript.
Hence the Java is only the mechanism to make the content dynamic.

Why does use of third-party components make an application not a real
world application?
I never said that.
But is strange that is not possible to see an application that uses only
standard VCL .Net.
Best regards
German.

A *web* application would not use *VCL* controls in Delphi 8 anymore than one
would in any other version of Delphi. VCL controls work on Windows forms.

Web applications.
I think the OP was implcitly talking about desktop apps, but maybe that's
