Bummer. Thanks for the quick reply.
We tested this on a bunch of boxes and configurations. It just goes to
show that no matter how many times you test it, there's going to be
SOME configuration out there that is going to be unhappy with your app
:(

It hangs with 100% cpu.
Thanks for the reply and the details. I hope we can find some
commonality and ... uh ... get a hotfix out for the hotfix.

same here.
It's seams to me a good improvement, now no more AV on bds shutdown.
Anyway the memory leak pressing Alt F12 is stil there.

Re: Hotfix rollup for all BDS 2006 versions and all Turbos

no problem John,
what version should the delphicoreide100.bpl file have after these
hotfixes?
I renamed delphicoreide100.bpl and then ran the update again and it
worked... then i renamed it back to delphicoreide100.bpl
but i don't know if it updated what it was supposed to
the file has a version of 10.0.2341.30612

Verify that you've got appropriate access rights and can write to the
bin\, lib\ and include\ folders in the root BDS install. Also, I've
posted the MD5 hash code on my blog, so if you can verify that it is
correct, that would help. I hope that CodeCentral didn't do something
goofy to it...
Sorry to say, but no, it does not work.
Rebooted, checked the rights, turned off NOD32 AntiVirus and Windows
Defender, re-downloaded the .exe via direct link and checked the MD5 hash
code...

Yes, we did a fair amount of testing on this rollup, including asking
the field test for our next release to bang on it for a number of days.
QA is investigating, need to isolate what the exact issue is so we can
fix it.

Add a Celeron 400/Win2K w/ 384megs of memory, and a 2.8GHz Pentium

Just ran fine for me as well, with Windows XP Pro, BDS 2006 Pro. Took only a
few seconds to perform the hotfix.

Any chance to get hotfix 7-9 as standalone versions? Because the
rollup consumes up to 99% cpu time - it hangs at "installing file:
coreide100.bpl".
Should take mere seconds to complete. Maybe something has that file locked -
try restarting your system.

Re: Hotfix rollup for all BDS 2006 versions and all Turbos

The plot thickens ...
It hanged on coreide100.bpl.
I renamed coreide100.bpl to something else.
Then it hanged on delphicoreide100.bpl
I renamed delphicoreide100.bpl to something else.
Then it went through without{*word*154}.
The 2 files weren't replaced so I renamed them back again.
I ran the update again and then immediately it said
"All files successfully updated. Press "Finish" to exit the installer."
Hm...

Go into file explorer and see if you can rename or move coreide100.bpl
manually.
