Delphi 3 install on NT 4.0 can be run under one account

Hi,

Anyone know how to solve this problem?

I've installed D3 under windows NT WKS 4.0 (srvpk 3). D3 runs fine for the
user that you have installed it for, but try running it from someone else's
account and it won't run properly (Component Pallette won't load). If you
install it as a arb user, even the administrator cannot run it properly.

The error returned is:
Access violation at address 008183A8 in module 'DCC.DLL'.  Read of
address 00000000.

Anyone know the solution to this problem? Your help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
 -Erik

I had the same problem with VB 4.0 last year on an NT 4.0 box.  NT
segregates key portions of the registry on a user-by-user basis, and you
lose the needed values when logged on as another user.  I don't think
there's much you can do about it.  I had to install VB twice, logged on as
both users.  I hope that works for you with Delphi.

The solution is to install as the first user, say Administrator, then copy
the borland start menu group to the all users start menu, then using regedit
export the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\sOFTWARE\bORLAND key to a .reg file that you can leave in
the borland start menu.

Then for each user that wants to use delphi, get them to click on the .reg
file before starting delphi the first time..

This is the method I use on the LAN here..
