MS Acess 2002

Hi there,

I am having trouble connecting to a MS Access 2002 database, I have 5.11
BDE, but it doesn't connect, any ideas anyone?????

I assume you mean MS Access 2000 ?
The BDE MSACCESS driver can only work with DAO 3.0 and 3.5 and not with DAO
3.6 (required for MS Access 2000 databases). You will need to use BDE ODBC
or switch to a DAO or ADO BDE replacement (see

Hi there,

Many thanks for your reply. The version of Access is 2002. It says on
the box The Microsoft Office XP database solution. I think I will use ODBC
for now, as the business I am applying this to may warrant a backend upgrade
to Oracle at some point so then I can simply use Direct Oracle Access which
circumvents the BDE altogether.
