That's not what I meant, I meant that since the book was 100+ years old
it might have some ideas that are not "modern".
You are right of course that if a species was advanced enough to travel
from one planet to another that they would be advanced enough to know
that they would have no immunity to local viruses and bacteria.
At least it was not like Mars Attacks where the Martians where destroyed
by {*word*99}py music :-)

So, please don't tell me that H.G.Wells screwed this story up. The original
story was a lot more beleavable than the {*word*99} presented by Hollywood in this
new movie. If they stayed by the Book, the movie may have been less
"attractive" to new audience, since we know (or thing that we know) a bit
more about the Universe than people who lived in the 19th century, but it
would have been more believable.

If {*word*99}py music killed aliens, Earth would be UNDESTROYABLE! :-)
Ronaldo
It was a particular country song which killed them.

Even traveling with the speed of light, you most likely won't get far enough
in a lifetime.

Yes, but John is saying that you should free your mind so that it can travel
anywhere in the universe instantly. You see, imagination does *not* have a
speed limit, unlike all physical principles devised by man's rational,
not-very-free-thinking mind. If you're into Quantum Physics, have a read of
www.aip.org/enews/physnews/1998/split/pnu399-1.htm and you can see that
"instantly" is verifiable. QP has verified 2 things to me, that I concluded
from looking inside me :-
1) All matter and energy at the quantum level exists everywhere in the
universe simultaneously - so-called non-locality.
2) All matter and energy at the quantum level exists at all times in the
universe simultaneously - so-called non-temporality.
Another useful fact to consider - the limbic (reptilian) areas of the brain
responsible for basic survival instincts and so forth, has neurons that are
too distant for signals travelling along them to undergo any quantum
entanglement (or quantum jumps). However, in the conscious brain, the neurons
are suitably proximal, so that consciousness is far more connected to this
bizarre quantum universe than we are led to believe. Have a look at

I'd bet you think that about a lot of crackpots :-)
