You are suppose to be coming to DC to show us Delphi 8 on 3/3.

Is any major "launch event" planned to come "to a city near me?"
Somehow I thought I'd see an announcement before now.
There are Delphi developers in the Cincinnati/Dayton/Columbus
area, you know!

Re:D8 roll-out

I should take a shot at you because of your derogatory statements
about me being a chair of a Delphi users group, but I won't.
I believe you can contact XXXX@XXXXX.COM
to schedule something for your users group. Ylonda sent
out an invite months ago.

Unfortunately, no. One of our SE's, Geoff Goetz, lives there, and he is
an extremely good and enthusiastic presenter. Great technical skills.

Thomas, I have no desire to exchange "shots" with you, and I
have plenty of respect for you, and for the volunteer work you
do chairing a Delphi users group. We haven't always agreed,
and IIRC I participated in a thread where someone else said they
thought you were misusing your position as a UG leader.
Anyway, I hope this won't become a "you versus me" thread.

Well, the thing there is that I am just chairing one SIG which
is part of a larger organization, and I am forbidden from making
contact with software vendors directly -- only the Board officers
are supposed to, and when they're swamped with work (almost always)
they tend to focus only on end-user products that might make a
good general presentation to attract a few hundred computer
users.
Besides the "red tape" issue, our local SIG generally has a
meeting attendance of less than a dozen -- loyal and enthusiastic,
but not great in numbers.
So, knowing that it is coming to Columbus, I will hope it is on
a day I can drive there, and perhaps bring one or two with me.
