try reading the ECO newsgroups on 'ECO Modeler'.
Oh, it is an ECO thing. Ah.

And you are the one to decide what gets the right to exist?
I do not think that when people do something they keep you
in mind.
I'll take that as an "I don't know, I have no idea, so I will just attack the
questioner instead" on your part.

Apparently, questioning the wisdom of the great Chrome is blasphemy and
heresy. You can get excommunicated for doing it. Trust me, I know from
personal experience.

The same as the Delphi language offers for Win32 development compared to
C++.
You mean Chrome and the other pascal type languages lets me use the Delphi
IDE, all my legacy Delphi code, all the same third party components that I
currently own, the VCL, and the Delphi community?
Look next time before you leap.

Then what are you doing in .NET land?
He is not in .NET land, he is in developer relations, where he is supposed to
be a liaison between the developer community, much of which uses .NET, and
internal Borland resources.

Well Mr. Perfect, I meant Borland.

You are going incoherent. He did not claim that.

Well, you were replying to John Kaster. If you want to address Borland itself
you will need to figure out some way to get into their email system or their
PA system.

I've never claimed anything in regards to greatness of Chrome.
I think you are the one having particular issues with the
language. There are people that like Chrome but the majority
I'd say do not care at all about that language. MS/Borland/RO,
you can figure the proportion easy.

No, that is the point. He missed that.

AFAICS, he never said so.
Not specifically, but going over his multiple
posts here and in RO groups makes an impression
(to me at least) that he is somewhat unhappy
with Chrome's existence.
As for "he gets to decide" part it was a pure
sarcasm.

No, not at all - they are your words.
I mean that some people find it more productive to code in languages
belonging to the Algol / Pascal family, while others prefer coding in
languages descending from BCPL / C-style (or whatever) family.
However, currently, if anybody wants to develop for the .NET Compact
Framework the Delphi Language is not an option whereas Object Pascal,
Component Pascal etc. are.
If anybody is *ever* hoping to use the Delphi IDE, all their legacy Delphi
code, all the same third party components that they currently own, the VCL,
... to develop for the Pocket PC, then they should prepare themselves for a
big disappointment.

Allow me to decide it myself. Just a hint,
when I am talking to a bank representative
I assume that I am talking to the bank but
not that particular Mr. Joe. I understand
though that he is not the one making a
decisions.

FWIW, I see many statements as interesting thoughts, but that doesn't
mean that I am going to divert from what I am already doing.
