Firebird Debian package

Interbase/Firebird Debian package

Currently I have not been able to find any Debian package (.deb) containing
nor Interbase nor Firebird.
Anyone could tell me the status of any effort to create it?

Hi Jaume,
I believe that a program exists (called alien?) which can convert a
rpm to a deb. Just find a firebird rpm (I don't think a Interbase rpm
exists for the open edition).

I've also been looking, currently I use the .tgz interbase 6 package. You
have to install it in /opt/interbase, create an init script to auto-start
interbase and that's about it.
