Handling Cutomer Problems Installing BDE

I have a shareware app that uses the BDE (5.01).  I am getting
numerous support e-mails complaing about version conflicts with the
BDE.

It appears that InstallShield (2.04) will not copy over a previous
version of the BDE. (Why not!?)

The biggest culprit appears to be Corel, which installs v4.

What is the best way to handle this with customers with varying levels
of computer experience?

How have others handled it?

Check out Bill Todd's article on installing the BDE to the network.
Ther is info in there that will help you to have multiple versions of
the BDE on a system and have your app use just the one that you want.

Be aware that using another BDE product, such as Corel, while your app
is running, will also use the same BDE that your app is using.

My fix for Installshield and Wise Install problems
was to switch to Youseful install.
