Compiler Settings for Release version of cdoe : your expertise ... please

Hi everyone,
Until now I have never had the duty of making a release build .. just one of
the grunts who works on the code in 'development mode'. Well the day has
finally arrived when I am to 'release' the code for myself, so ... I was
hoping you could give me some advice on what compiler settings you consider
the best for a release version of an application.
