Is Delphi an Windows XP Logo app?

Hi All,
One of my clients just asked me if Delphi is a Windows XP Logo App. It
sounds silly, but I have no idea, and we couldn't find it on the Borland
website. Does anyone know? (or can point me where to look, please?)
Thanks in advance!

Re:Is Delphi an Windows XP Logo app?

Did this client say why he wanted to know that?
Because he is not running Delphi I assume, so it would make more sense to
ask if the apps you make for him are Windows XP logo certified.

Re:Is Delphi an Windows XP Logo app?

Easy way to know: Look at the box of any product, like delphi, if say
"designed for Windows restart anything" then yes.

Why would anyone want to know that a *compiler* package is XP
certified? And why would a vendor go there? Certification at that level
always seemed to me to be insurance for end-users.

Well, Delphi 7 has the XPManifest class, so...

I bet it is not fully conformant.
The default path for new projects should be "My files" for a XP Logo App.

And a damned irritating feature that sort of thing is. Despite have no
videos or music on my PC, I have to put up with directories for them.

XP Logo App is a brainwashing method for programmers. They are forced to
sing the MS tune and forget about clean GUI design.

Hmmn, looks like you've already been brainwashed without the help of MS.
First of all, no-one is forced to do anything - if you don't want the logo
or don't think it'll help your product then don't get it. Virtually all of
the logo criteria in any way relating to the GUI are associated with
Accessibility features, and all of them make perfect sense and provide a
clear benefit. The only other GUI requirements are to support XP visual
styles and author high quality icons.
If you think that it is "clean" GUI design to ignore user preferences and
deny users access to features unless they work in the method and environment
that you prescribe then that is fine. Personally I would use the terms lazy and
arrogant, but that is just me.
Incidentally there's no XP Logo on the Delphi box.
