What a load of popups, activeX and cookies on this site:-(
Well, at least they want to be "fiscally responsible" ....

I they don't use IE, how are they to know that it does that in IE?

Since Venkatesh is using Thunderbird, it is a fair bet he's also using
Firefox, and so may not even have knows about the popups or ActiveX.
Nothing annoying happens on that site for Firefox users.

or anyone using proper pop-up blockers, no matter what browser they are
running.
Nothing special about Firefox.

Hi Rick,
Have a look at portableapps.com/apps there's Firefox and T-Bird.
No need to install, just unzip it and take some days off, of this ...
"thing" aka IE. :-)

Firefox doesn't use ActiveX. IE does.

Firefox doesn't use ActiveX. IE does.
Can be turned off pretty easily, no? or set to prompt.

A bit of a trouble though, as "basic functionality" like AJAX f.i. still
involved ActiveX on IE last time I checked.

Sure you can. But 1) they're on by default and 2) they can not be turned
/on/ in Firefox. Given the large number of ActiveX controls installed
on a typical user's machine marked safe for scripting, that is fairly
special, I think.

Some sites assume if using IE then ActiveX is on whereas Firefox aware
sites know ActiveX is not an option and offer the non-ActiveX web page.
