Help! making fake COM port using Delphi2.0
Taking my first steps in windows-programming and already trying
to do (too?) extraordinary things. Silly me. I want to make a program that creates a fake com port(s) and connects it to a socket. The idea is that it snoops the socket, accepts any incoming connections and after that simply transfers all incoming bytes to com port and vice versa. One could also use any ordinary terminal program with the fake com port and "telnet" outside using modem command strings like ATDhost.domain.country Doing the necessary stuff with winsock seems to be easy but how do I create the fake com port? Do I need to make some sort of driver/dll for the fake com and if so can I do it easily with delphi2.0? The com port should be usable to all software including dos-programs so how should I handle the baseaddress stuff and IRQs dos-programs need? Any kind of help (pointers to useful online documents, skeleton sources etc.) is greatly appreciated. Antti Toiviainen |
