Here's an indirect answer, but I think it might help.
Go to www.iag.net/~philb and look for MEMSTUFF.ZIP
This file explains in text, the layout of the dBase MEM file.

The site, BTW, is a repository for Clipper language files (best on the
net, IMHO)
