D3 and SQL-Anywhere with SQL-Links?

Hello *

Simple question: Does D3 C/S work with Sybase SQL-Anywhere via SQL-Links or
via ODBC?

Greetings and TIA

Just using ODBC.

Re:D3 and SQL-Anywhere with SQL-Links?

There is also a beta version of Titan that allows SQL-A to be used and
bypasses ODBC and the BDE.  It appears, on my initial tests, to be faster.
However, Being a beta, it has problems...and I've reported them and not
been at all satisfied with the response.  (so far, none)

Re:D3 and SQL-Anywhere with SQL-Links?

If you want somewhat better speed from the Delphi/SQL Anywhere combo,
use the gateway supplied with SQL Anywhere-Pro for NT.

The gateway provides a CT-Lib interface to SQL Anywhere V5.5 or later,
allowing use of the native Sybase interface.

Procedure:

1. Define a server in SQL Edit

2. Create a profile in SQL Central.using that server

3. Start the server/engine

4. Connect from delphi (1/2/3 don't matter, having SQL links and CT Lib
installed does) using the gateway server defined in (1) above.

5. Wail on it!
