Is this true???

"...no OOP language today supports a RAD environment and vice versa. At
this point you can only gain the benefits of true OOP at the cost of more
programmer hours per project."

The above was qDQuoted from the September 1997 issue of Visual Basic
Programmer's journal, page 28, of an article entitled "Inside VB"

can this be true? do i misunderstand the quote. comments????

You misunderstand what? Object Pascal (coming in a box written Delphi on
it) is a so called hybrid language, as opposed to Smalltalk which is
considered a true object oriented language.

There are many characteristics to distinguish one OOPL from the other.
For example, (Borland) Pascal 7 was "object based" while (Object) Pascal
8 (the one driving Delphi) is "class based".
