Drag&Drop images from internet explorer

Hi!

I'm looking for components (cheap or free) that will allow me to drag&drop
images from explorer onto my application.
What I basically need is for my application to either
a) Read the URL location of the image and download it to a file
OR
b) Read the location of the temporary file saved on the harddisk and copy it
to a new location

I found a lot of Drag&Drop components - but none can do what I'm hoping to
achieve...

Thanx in advance!
Louis

I think the drag and drop suite at this site can do what you want, but the
site seems to be down at the moment?

Actually these are the components I'm currently using - but it doesn't quite
do what I need.
It only supports BMP and "certain" types of GIF files. JPEG or PNG does not
seem to be supported at all...

I looked at the source code to see if I could add support myself - but had
no luck

This is a limitation of Internet Explorer, not of the Drag and Drop Component
Suite.

If you drag a plain image (<img>) from IE, IE will provide the image in DIB
format and a HTML snippet.
If you drag a linked image image (<a href><img>...) from IE, IE will only
provide the URL of the link.

In other words; What you ask for is not possible.

Maybe what you need is a component from this set?

With EmbeddedWB you can build your own webbrowser, and act and react on
several interesting events
