DELPHI 16 to SYBASE on an NT Server with client and server on same machine

The delphi BDE looks for a DLL called DMNMP3.DLL. Sybase has an update
of the Open Client , version 10.0.3 which now uses a different DLL. Is
it possible to change the DLL that the BDE uses when calling a SYBASE
alias?

The DBNMP3.DLL gives the impression of working, but crashes from time to
time.
