Connect to SQL server without BDE

Is it possible to connect to Sybase SQL Server from Delphi 2 WITHOUT using
BDE or a third party product?

I've seen references to 'connecting directly via ODBC'. Howdoes one do such
a thing?

Hi

You can connect to ODBC with something like ODBC Express,
www.odbcexpress.com, but it is still a third party product. Try them for
trail copies. Remember if you connect to ODBC with Delphi and not using a
third party product, U still need the BDE.
