General SQL error.[ODBC Access Driver]Jet error -1003

General SQL error.[ODBC Access Driver]Jet error -1003

I have an Access 2.0 database with a numeric field defined as a double.
When I try to post any updates to this type of field thru Delphi, 1.0 I get
the following error:

EDBEngineError with message 'General SQL error.[Microsoft]
[ODBC Access Driver]Jet error -1003 returned'. Process Stopped

Can somebody explaing why I am getting this message ?? If I change
the numeric field to a single (in the Access Database), the Post doesn't fail,
but when I stop my app. and restart it, it seems like I'm losing some
precision. e.g. 8.99 becomes 8.989...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also had similar problems with Access tables a while ago, but then I
got the "MS ODBC 2.0 Database Driver Pack" (available from Microsoft),
and the newest drivers on it solved most of my problems. Still, the
ODBC drivers seem to be rather buggy.

BTW, have you checked the Open DataBase Connectivity pages at
http://www.webbase.com/odbcC.htm? They might have the newest drivers
as well.
