CR = #13, TAB = #8 and LF (Line Feed) = #10

*NOTE* the CR+LF for 'newline'

Ok... I'm new to programming and need some help.

If:

const
    CR = #13#10      <----- declares a carriage return constant

const
   TAB =  ?????      <------ declares a tab constant

Thanks for any answers to what I am sure is a very simple question.

Re:Carriage returns and tabs

Hi the answer you want is  ......   #9

by  the way strictly speaking #13#10 is Carriage return, Line feed

I am looking for a copy of all these codes for you but the only one I can
find is a paper copy. Perhaps some one else can let you have one?

while i'm sure the above is a typographical error, i'll point it out all the
same for those who would use the above as reference.  #8 is backspace, #9 is
tab. . .

hope this helps,

salman.

please note #8 is the delete char #9 is the tab

Au contraire, mon frere.  Tab is #9.  Backspace is #8.

Michael, the answer (#9) is in an appendix of Turbo Pascal
Programmers Reference. That is, one of the manuals that came with
Turbo Pascal when you bought it. If you have TP 7.0, the ASCII table
is on pages 278-279.

   All the best, Timo
