help with the media object to get pics/frames into 10 to 20 seperate image objects

I'm writing an app where I want to visualize 10 to 20 seconds of a movie
simultaniously.
From there I catalog what I see into a database.

The ActiveMovie.position property doesn't seem to work very well.
