Animation in 3d.....

What is the best way to implement 3d animation into a 3d object?
Should i use keyframes, or skeletal animation???

The object to be animatedd will be a group of other 3d objects linked
together, e.g

                          Human
                               |
                           head
                              |
                           body
                         /          \
                    arm1     arm2
                              |
                            /  \
                     leg1  leg2

hmm.. that looks like a stick man......

               O

               \|/\
                /\ \
               /  \
              \     \

There was actually a good article in Delphi Developer (2 issues long.)

I can post the source code, but not the article.
