Telephones/Modems

If I connect my pc to the telephone socket, can I read the 'CLI'
(Calling Line Identity) of the person calling me?

I have a telephone which displays this information for me, but I wish to
have this information in the pc linked to a database.

Any ideas?

Your modem has to be able to have this feature in order to read the CLI.
