Interbase 32-bit ODBC drivers / Crystal Reports 6.0 / Delphi 2

Does anyone know where the Interbase 32-bit ODBC drivers
are located on the Delphi 2.01 Developer edition
installation CD? The thin "Getting Started" Interbase
manual mentions an ODBC driver on pages 10-11, but there is
no mention of the filenames or of ODBC at all anywhere
else.

I need to use Crystal Reports 6.0 with Delphi 2 and can't
even get out of the gate. Help! Thanks.

They are only shipped with then C/S version I'm afraid! Basically,  the
Developer version of Delphi is a Borland rip-off; you are better going with
the desktop (or whatever its called) or C/S versions.

That wasn't very descriptive...

I was also having a lot of problems with Delphi 3 and CR 6.0.
The VCL for D3 refused to install, so I had to use the OCX.
But then I emailed Seagate, and after a little correspondence they mailed
me a new VCL with source. After a few edits in it I finally was able to
"get out of the gate"..

My advice: Contact Seagate to get help/new versions.

Sorry, I thought that was pretty clear. "get out of the gate" = Connect to
an InterBase 4.1 database for a simple CR6 report.

Neil Butterworth said that Borland didn't ship the InterBase 32-bit ODBC
driver with the Developer edition in version 2.01 (the version I currently
have). Since they have dumped ReportSmith in version 3, I certainly hope
that they now ship the ODBC driver with the Developer edition. If they
don't, we're not going to pay US$1,700.00 just to have connectivity to
Crystal Reports... that's absurd!

Thanks,

Every shipping version if InterBase 4.x  (except the Netware version) ships with the 32
bit ODBC client on the client install disks.

The Version of IB that came with Delphi 2.01 is for development only and Borland included
the IB SQL links to give you the connectivity. As ReportSmith will use the same links
there was no need to include the ODBC driver.

My understanding is that both the professional and client/server versions of Delphi 3.x
have the ODBC driver included.

Is this also the case with Delphi 3 Developer edition? I've read elsewhere
that ReportSmith disappeared in version 3, so surely Borland would include
ODBC drivers in v3, yes??
